Business Forum in Sofia: Hosted by the Sofia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and EMC
The Sofia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the European Management Centre and the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized on the 8th of May 2007 a Business Forum in Sofia.�Mr. Vasily Romanov, vice president of the Belarusian Chamber, participated as well as Franz Vitko,�trade officer�of Belarus, who�constituted to the attendant Belarusian and Bulgarian companies opportunities to realize their business potential�with united cooperation.
During the first quarter of 2007 the GDP of Belarus increased by 8.4�% in industries�according to�the same period�in 2006 (5,9%). The GDP increased by 2,9 % in production of consumer goods, the volume of agricultural production�by 4.4 %, Foreign trade�by 13.3 %.
The unemployment rate was�1.2 %. The profitability of production�amounts 11.8%. The nominal average�monthly wage�amounts USD 307.4. dol, which is 7.3 %�more than in the same period of 2007. According to Mr Romanov Belarus is a country with no foreign debts and with low inflation. A big advantage of Belarus is the preservation of a stable educational system which allows�people to brace themselves�for economic work.
